Reinosa
Today was just what we needed to claw back some rest and find our groove together again. Kids up and playing with the toys - there's all sorts for them to play with (the musical dinosaur being the major hit) and then she had her nap and Max watched TV/the two of us had a read up of the area and chilled too. On wake up we headed out back into the town - it's a really interesting place, not big but not overly quaint, there's definitely some life here and randomly it has some of the best clothes shops I've ever been into! So Lewis took them to the park for a few mins so I could have a browse and I got myself a top. Stopped off for a quick coffee and (very average) hot choc and cake. Tried her with a little jar of food but she's absolutely not interested, she just wants proper food which is a great thing but can make eating on the move a bit trickier! Back home and she had another sleep, he was super tired too but not settling so I bought him in with me and we had a nice cuddle until he fell asleep and I read my book. Everyone more energised on wake up and we headed out to Nacimiento del Rio Ebro, which is the very start of the River Ebro that flows 930km all the way across the country into the Med. It was such a peaceful and almost spiritual place - the water was turquoise in places and super clear, and people had lit candles around religious figures. We tested the go pro in the water for the first time and were having a lovely quiet walk until Max tripped up and scraped his knee. It was quite a scrape to be fair but my goodness what followed was an hour of crying/whinging/screaming from the two of them in the car on the way home, we had to laugh as it was such an ordeal. We had planned to go to a restaurant for our last night together but the timings for food here are so hard to fit into our schedule so nothing was open, so home for pasta and a play instead. Once they were in bed Lewis and I had a really nice night - sat up with a bottle of wine and chatted about our adventures and what might be next for us. But first, let's get ourselves back on the boat...
