San Sebastian to Biescas
Up and at 'em - packed and left San Sebastian by 8.30am. Not sad to say goodbye to that Airbnb but loved the city. 2.5 hour drive to our next destination, Biescas in the Pyrenees Mountains. Mia-Rose, having got better in the car in recent months, has been a nightmare passenger since we arrived so all driving is being timed to naps and involves me sitting, very cramped, next to her in the back passing her toys and snacks. Found a little bakery at the side of the road en route for some delicious pasties. Arrived at our destination and it's beautiful. Classic ski resort style - wooden buildings, little pubs and squares, and just as pretty in the summer. Our Airbnb has a balcony that overlooks the mountains covered thick in forest. Got her down for a nap and enjoyed 45 mins of peace and quiet! Once she was up, we headed to the pool opposite which is a real bonus to the stay. Max is great playing in the water but still lacks swimming confidence, and so far isn't keen on his armbands. Very happy throwing and chasing his ball and having fun though. The baby liked her new float. Once dry we headed to the supermarket for essentials (chocolate milk, apparently) and had a drink outside a little tavern. The barmaid poured me a triple measure and I've never been more grateful. It's hot hot, so back to Airbnb for tea, bathtime (our first bath) and bed, fans working overtime.
