Bath to Plymouth
So, today wasn't exactly smooth sailing.....
Woke up, quick dash around tidy up, and on the road to head to Portsmouth. Accident on the M5, so we had slow diversions. Restless, bored kids in the back, me sat in the middle sorting snacks and doing what I could to keep them entertained, and Lewis doing brilliant driving to get us there on time. Not that it made much difference in the end, as there was a 'police incident' (turns out an escaped prisoner, national manhunt then ensued!) at the terminal and we were stuck in the car for 3+ hours. So hot, boring, stressful! Kept the baby cool in a shady security garage and Max had an ice-cream. When we finally got on board, Mia-Rose went down for a nap and we explored the boat. Fun little kids area, bar with music on where we had a beer and an Aperol Spritz to toast finally being at sea! Dinner at the buffet - average, did the job, and little play in our tiny cabins before bed. Everyone in their respective pits by 7.30, girls room and boys room, although rumour has it the boys escaped up to the top deck for one last milk/beer with the sunset before bedtime.....
