Eurocamp - full day 1

No rain overnight, sun was just about coming up when a gangly, pumpy small person got in our bed. Time to start the day - Special K is a new favourite. Mia-Rose would not go down for a nap however hard we tried, so it was a loooooong morning with lots of tears until she finally crashed out at 11ish in the buggy. We had an explore of the site - lots of fab playparks for Max and all sorts of things to make the most of during our stay here. Took him to the Kids Club for "popcorn animal" making. He didn't stop asking to eat said popcorn but we got there in the end. Lots of Spanish families here, the staff speak English but there's almost no need for them to right now. Back to the lodge, scrambled eggs and "donuts" (bagels) for lunch, and miraculously they both went down for a nap at the same time. Cue Lewis and I leaping on sun loungers for an hour of podcasts, reading and catching up on phones. Up, suncream on, and off to the pool. Max was absolutely brilliant - running in and out of the water canons and going down the slides, he was really enjoying it. She loved spectating from the shallows and was calling out to people. More playpark time (she loves watching him speed along the zipline) then back for pasta and storybox. Lewis caught the very end of the match while we pottered about, then back out to put on a wash, do a top-up supermarket shop and check out the disco. Again, all in Spanish, so Max had a little boogie but wasn't throwing himself into it. We'll try again tomorrow. He's so tired - there's so much going on in his little brain. Love that he's experiencing it all but conscious of his usual routine being so out. But this is an adventure, and we'll be home doing normal things before we know it. We'll get each other through.
