Eurocamp - full day 2

The good days always follow the more challenging ones. This one was up there with the best so far. She woke up before him, and in a bid to keep him as rested as possible she played in our room throwing things about and crawling up and down the bed for almost an hour. Brekkie all round then off to explore the beach. Overcast and super high tide - everything looks a bit messy from the heavy rain. Max was straight in for a paddle and collecting treasures, she fell asleep very quickly on me, I think the sea is lovely white noise for her. Back to the lodge, quick round of toast, then back out in the buggy for the kids club which today was a pirate treasure hunt. All a bit slow and all in Spanish so was a bit boring for Max but he loved the sword balloons they made for the children (and she wouldn't stop squawking/snatching his until she got one too!! She's a right madam). Lewis squeezed in a quick run around the site. Back for lunch and she had a sleep, so Max and Lewis chilled while I read my book outside on the veranda. Once she was up it was all systems go again and we went to try out a different pool. This one had slides and was much bigger so had more grassy space, places to relax. She had a ball crawling across the lawn and playing "on her own" unpacking the beach bag/hunting for biscuits in the shade while I sat about 10 feet away in the sun. Max put his armbands on and was amazing in the water today - kicking his legs, learning to float, and he got up the courage to go down the curly slide with us. We were both so proud of him. Some drinks and running around later and the three of them all had a quick catnap - Lewis and Max on the grass and the baby in her buggy. I kept watch making the most of the sun and felt very holiday-ish. Back for tea, Lewis has been great this trip at making "health sauces" for the kids - lentils and lots of veg - to have with rice or pasta so they have one proper meal a day and then the ice creams/ham and cheese in-between don't feel so naughty. Both of them wolfed it (Max later had Ready Brek too, apparently all that swimming awoke his appetite). Both of them had a bath in the baby tub on the veranda, where they were joined by some very interested kittens! Max named them Catty, Matty and Tatty. Did proper bedtime routine tonight (to give them the rest and us an evening) so I'm writing this in the bar with a wine waiting to collect our takeaway. Happy days.
